Obituary for Mary Evelyn Otis
On Tuesday July 9th, 2019, Mary Otis (nee Griffith) loving wife and mother of two, passed away peacefully in to the arms of her savior while surrounded by family at the age of 63. She faced a two-year battle with cancer but never stopped inspiring and spreading love to everyone around her along the way.
Mary was born on May 3, 1956, in Cincinnati, OH to Henry Griffith and Evelyn Clawson(nee Meisberger Griffith), where she was the third of six children.
Mary graduated high school from Clairemont Northeastern in 1974. She married the late Lorin Pindell in 1974. She then remarried to David Otis April 12th, 1991. They moved to Mableton, Georgia in 1999 where they resided for 19 years.
In 2010 Mary published "ICE 9:11", which she compiled scriptures while listing them in chronological order as a daily devotional to help people learn the word of God.
Mary is preceded in death by her father Henry Griffith, mother Evelyn Clawson(nee Meisberger Griffith), and sister Lisa Smith(nee Griffith).
She is survived by her husband David Otis, her daughter Sara (Russell) Cook, her son Mark (Nikki) Otis, grandchildren;Preston, Jessica, Madisyn, Brenton, Lily, Karlie and great- granddaughter Liana.
She was a loving sister to Carol (Jack) Gallegos, Julie Nordstrom, Tom Griffith, and Tina (Greg) Walsh.
Mary also had two step-daughters with David Otis; Ruth (Jeff) Henkaline, Michelle (Luke) Richardson, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was such a bright light in everyone's lives and will be deeply missed.
There will be a memorial service held on July 27th, 2019, from 1:00PM-5:00PM at Receptions Banquet Center in Loveland to Celebrate the life of Mary Otis.
